

Nels Nelsen is a founder and the CEO at Menalto Advisors. He has closed nearly 200 transactions (M&A, growth capital, and other strategic transactions) as an investment banker, including with nearly all the preeminent corporations and investment firms in technology. Nels has represented clients all over the globe, and about half of his completed transactions have been cross-border. Nels was born, raised, and educated in the Bay Area and has spent over 30 years in Silicon Valley advising and working with technology companies as a Certified Public Accountant, lawyer, and investment banker. Prior to Menalto Advisors, Nels was a co-owner and Managing Director at Pagemill Partners, an M&A advisory firm, which he and his partners sold to Duff & Phelps (now Kroll). Nels began his investment banking career at Alliant Partners, which was sold to Silicon Valley Bank.
As a lawyer, Nels was an Equity Partner at Gray Cary Ware & Freidenrich (now DLA Piper), and he was listed in “The Best Lawyers of America.” Prior to practicing law, Nels was a Senior Accountant at Price Waterhouse. Nels earned a Bachelor of Science in Commerce in Accounting with honors from Santa Clara University and a J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law. He is a member of the State Bar of California (inactive) and a Certified Public Accountant in California (inactive). Away from the office, Nels can be found with his family, cheering on his favorite Bay Area sports teams, at the beach on Kauai, and occasionally on the golf course. Jon Roberts is a Partner and co-founder of Menalto Advisors, where he leads M&A and growth capital transactions for technology clients across the globe. He has successfully closed over 50 transactions with many of the world's leading corporations and financial firms, including ABB, Apple, Carlyle, Danaher, Ford, Google, Hg Capital, Intel, Meta, Qualcomm, Sonos, and Sony. Jon has extensive international markets experience, with over half of his transactions crossing borders. In 2019, Jon relocated from the Bay Area to Zurich to expand the firm's presence in Europe. He now splits his time between Europe and the US and maintains a transatlantic practice serving clients in both markets. Jon started in investment banking at Pagemill Partners, a technology M&A boutique acquired by Duff & Phelps (now Kroll).
He began his career at Deloitte Consulting, advising major corporations in the healthcare, hospitality, and industrial sectors on strategy and M&A. Jon graduated Summa Cum Laude from Miami University’s Farmer School of Business with a double Bachelors of Science in Accounting and Management. Jon was born in Kentucky and had a multicultural upbringing, living in Ohio, England, and Italy. Outside of work, Jon enjoys outdoor pursuits, cars, and spending time with his wife and three kids. Tim Giebink is a Partner at Menalto Advisors, where he advises founders and investors on M&A and growth capital transactions. He specializes in working with differentiated technology companies and has completed over 40 transactions with leading strategic acquirers and financial sponsors across AI, enterprise software, fintech, semiconductors, and deep tech. Before joining Menalto Advisors, Tim was a Vice President at Silicon Valley Bank, where he built and managed banking relationships with venture-backed technology companies and their investors. He began his career at Sapere Consulting, advising global corporations on product development and go-to-market strategy.
Tim holds a B.A. in Economics from Middlebury College. Originally from Vermont, he has lived and worked in several U.S. technology hubs, including Boston, New York, and San Francisco. Outside of work, he enjoys the outdoors, whether hiking, skiing, golfing, or spending time with his wife and three children. A world traveler, Charles has been to over 50 countries for business and fun. He is happily married and the proud father of two daughters, a self-proclaimed watch nut, and has a black belt in Aikido. Charles has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, business and corporate development, finance, capital raising, investor relations, human resources, and law. He is a serial entrepreneur including a principal at three different businesses, all of which he sold. Over a 20 plus year investment banking career, Charles has successfully completed numerous M&A, strategic capital raise, and licensing transactions in a variety of sectors and geographies. Prior to Menalto Advisors, Charles was a co-owner and Managing Director at Pagemill Partners, an M&A advisory firm, where his closed transactions included negotiating the sale of Pagemill Partners to Duff & Phelps. Prior to Pagemill Partners, Charles co-headed several different practice groups at SVB Alliant, the then investment banking arm of Silicon Valley Bank. Before joining SVB Alliant as an investment banker, Charles was the Vice President, Finance, Corporate Development & Strategy at NetScaler, an Internet infrastructure company that was eventually acquired by Citrix. Prior to NetScaler, Charles held the position of Vice President, Corporate Development at Solectron, an EMS company, and he was the Vice President, Business Development and General Counsel at SMART Modular Technologies, a memory module manufacturer that was acquired by Solectron.
Charles was also a corporate securities attorney at Wilson, Sonsini, Goodrich & Rosati. Charles has a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech, a Masters in Real Estate Development from the University of Southern California, and a J.D. from the University of California at Berkeley.
